Carbon dioxide reaches tipping point
Carbon dioxide levels have passed a symbolic milestone, but it is hardly cause for celebration. This year, carbon dioxide levels passed the 400 parts per million mark, yet the safe level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is 350 parts per million. The last time carbon dioxide levels were this high, humans were not alive. So what does this mean for the climate?
