Comedy Across Generations: Anthony Locascio’s Pappou at the Sydney Comedy Festival
Rising stand-up comedian Anthony Locascio is set to entertain audiences at the Sydney Comedy Festival with his new show, Pappou – Greek for ‘Grandfather’.
Locascio explores the generational contrasts between himself and his grandfather, who was brought over from Greece to play as a goalkeeper for what would later become the Socceroos.
“I found myself reflecting on his life and the kind of man that he is versus the kind of man that I am, ” said Locascio.
“My grandfather was chasing a dream. For a bunch of reasons, he didn’t achieve that dream.”
Well, maybe one reason in particular – a punch to a referee scored Locascio’s pappou a lifetime ban, cutting his dreams short.
Find out more when Anthony Locascio takes to the stage with Pappou from May 8th to May 10th at Manning Bar as part of the Sydney Comedy Festival – tickets available here.
