Females in prison are on the rise
Australia’s population of female prisoners have been increasing in the past decade. Recently, The Australian Bureau of Statistics stated that there has been a 6 per cent increase of female imprisonment in the period of June 2022-June 2023. It has been reported that most of the women who are in prisons are there on remand.
