1000 Games for Ken Ray
If you’ve ever been involved in any type of sport you’ll know milestones are big achievements. In the AFL Brent Harvey famously had 432 games, and in the NRL Cameron Smith has 424 but 1000 is unheard of. Ken Ray is an AFL goal umpire, and over the weekend umpired his 999th and then 1000th senior game where the manly wolves took on pennant hills demons. Ken started his umpiring journey in 1989 at Old’s Park in Penshurst and over his career has paved the way for Sydney umpires honing their skills. Monday Drive’s Curdie caught up with Ken to chat about this amazing achievement.
