France welcomes 10 million athletes, spectators, officials, and tourists for the 2024 Olympics held in Paris. However, the French Government is concerned about a dengue outbreak. But, the concept of a super spreader infection in epidemiology has existed for some time. A study published by Nature Journal suggests that 85% of COVID cases were caused by 15% of people in the province of China.

In the past, the 2016 Brazil Olympics were postponed because of fears of the Zika virus, and drastic measures were taken in 2020 to reduce COVID-19 transmission during the Tokyo Olympics.
