‘Future Fashion’ at the Powerhouse Museum
Since 1993, the annual ‘Future Fashion’ exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum in Castle Hill has showcased the best emerging Australian fashion designs from tertiary fashion and textile courses, emphasising adaptability, sustainability, and responsiveness to key global fashion trends
Powerhouse fashion curator Glynis Jones joins 2SER to discuss 2024’s exhibiting designers, including ARMAN MARTIROSIAN from the Whitehouse Institute of Design, LINA YU from the University of Technology Sydney, SAMARA DARLING from The Fashion Design Studio: TAFE NSW, Ultimo Campus, and WILL MADDOCK from Torrens University Australia: Billy Blue College of Design.
Notably, this exhibition also boasts impressive Alumni, including famous Australian designers, including Dion Lee, Tom Maticevski, Anna Plunkett, and Luke Sales from Romance Was Born.
For over three decades, ‘Future Fashion’ has provided a glimpse into the exciting potential of the next generation of Australian fashion designers. The free exhibition is on every weekend from 10 a.m to 4 p.m until the end of the year. There is no excuse to miss it!
