Darug community leader, Aunty Cino

Aunty Cino (Cynthia Morrison) is an elder in her communities in various roles as head of the Garabara Dance Group, President and founder of the Didjurigur Netball Club, and as a much loved Aboriginal Education Officer teaching culture to primary school children K-6.

With Muruwari heritage on her mother’s side and Darug-Yuin on her father’s side, Aunty Cino lived on Muruwari land in early childhood before the family moved to Darug country.

Aunty Cino has lived on her father’s land in Darug country for 54 years and is a community leader in Mount Druitt and Shalvey and the wider communities across that Darug region.

In this conversation, Aunty Cino shares some of her experiences of connecting and sharing through culture, education and community.
