Labour win historic majority in UK elections

The UK Elections have been a landslide win for Sir Keir Starmers Labour Party, with the centre and right parties splintering the Conservative vote – up to 12 Ministers will lose their seat, and outgoing PM Rishi Sunak again stood in the rain to announce the loss to the nation and the world.

Although the right’s Reform UK garnered around 17% of the vote, the spread meant that this translated to only around 5 seats, whereas The Liberal Democrats look to have gone from 6 seats to around 50.  These distortions are largely due to the first past the post electoral system, and voluntary voting where there was a record low turnout.
