GRXCE on ‘Sorry For Being Sad’, Making A Short Film and Heading On Tour

If you’re a fan of artists like The Buoys, Holly Humberstone, Hayley Williams and Tommy Lefroy – turn it up.

GRXCE are an indie pop/rock band based right here in Sydney.

Hot off the back of the release of their debut EP ‘Sorry for Being Sad’ the band have taken the Sydney music scene by storm. Playing shows with artists like Lola Scott, The Rions, Sesame Girl and Surf Trash, GRXCE is building a community.

The release of Sorry for Being Sad is monumental – marking the band’s first-ever EP.

Accompanied by a short film, the EP tackles themes of mental health, love, hurt and everything in between as you follow lead singer and guitarist Jamila through her early 20’s. The lyrics on this EP are visceral and emotive, drawing in listeners and expertly communicating her story.

Jamila and Jonathan joined Dream State host Jas to chat all about their new EP, the process of making a short film and their biggest inspirations.

The band are heading on a huge national tour across August and September. You can catch GRXCE at The Chippo Hotel in Sydney on Saturday the 21st of September, you can grab a ticket here and head along. If you’re from further down the coast, they’ll also be in Wollongong on the 20th. You can check out all the dates here.
