Adelaide’s first free supermarket relieving food insecurity

As the need for food relief rises, one new venue has opened to ease the pressure amid the country’s cost of living crisis.

Adelaide welcomed its first free supermarket this week, opening its doors to provide food completely free of charge to those  in need, including low-income earners, people experiencing homelessness and families across South Australia.

The market, run by OzHarvest SA, centres on the philosophy ‘take what you need, give if you can,’ and is now open to the public three weekdays, including Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
