South Australia to ban Conversion practices directed at LGBTQIA+
This week, South Australia introduced new laws to ban conversion practices in the state.
Conversion practices, which seek to change or remove an LGBTQIA+ person’s sexual orientation or gender identity, will face severe penalties under new SA legislation.
The move echoes New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT who already have similar laws.
Advocacy groups in the state say it’s a good starting point, but it’s not enough.
