The Australian Child Maltreatment Study and Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety have both released reports showing high rates of child exposure to domestic violence in Australia. 

The ACMS report has found that almost 44% of 16-24 year olds have been exposed to domestic violence, while ANROWS says as many as 50% of children have experienced some form of family or sexual violence.

Two of the head investigators for these reports, Professor Ben Mathews and Professor Kate Fitz-Gibbon, explain the significance of such findings.
