Known for its maverick directors, realistic dramas, quirky explorations, and passionate melodramas, Italian cinema continues to have a universal appeal that transcends continental boundaries. This year is no different with the Italian Film Festival celebrating its 25^th anniversary, which over the years has seen it introduce to Australia some of the world’s best filmmakers (such as Paulo Sorrentino, Alice Rohrwacher, Luca Guadagnino and Matteo Garone). 2SER’s Stephen Hill chatted to Italian Film Festival director Elysia Zeccola about what to expect from the 2024 Italian Film Festival.
