The Seed 2025: Reigniting Artist-Led Industry Support
Created by artists for artists, The Seed Fund was the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo John Butler (of his eponymous Trio) and Danielle Caruana (Mama Kin) in 2005 as a way for the community to share resources and impart wisdom to managers and self-managed artists at the fledgling first steps in the music industry. The workshop brings much-needed creative development and industry opportunities to regional areas.
The Seed Management Workshop has provided crucial mentorship to artist managers and self-managed artists, and the likes of Van Picken (Sony Music CEO), Melody Forghani (founder of Twnty Three), Alex Lahey, Uncle Fred Leone, Jen Cloher, and Andrew Stone (AAM 2023 winner), credit the workshop with bricklaying the foundation for their careers.
