Before The Clash ‘Fought the Law’, The Crickets Took Them on First – Under the Covers
While the Clash might have sung about their fight against the law in 1979, the first hit to climb the charts was Bobby Fuller Four’s in 1966, but the true original is hidden away on the Crickets’ first post-Buddy Holly album from 1960.
This week, Max and Thomas chatted about original songwriter Sonny Curtis, a school-friend of Buddy Holly who would later join the Crickets and write the original famous track that is still being covered to this day.
You can catch Under the Covers on Friday Drive at 4:30pm.
