The Greens pledge to abolish all student debt and make tertiary education free
The Greens have unveiled one of their latest campaigns ahead of next year’s federal election, pledging to abolish all existing student debts and make university and TAFE free for everyone.
The party, a long champion of affordable tertiary education, cites the 16% increase in total student debt since the 2022 election.
Australia’s total student debt now sits at over $80 billion; held by approximately 3 million Australians.
