Rising temperatures fuel water-related disasters

Record breaking temperatures are continuing to increase and are changing how the water cycle works.

The 2024 Global Water Monitor Report, released this week, shows a more intense water cycle and climate change have contributed to last year’s extreme weather events, such as floods, cyclones and droughts.

Last year forms part of a worsening trend of water-related disasters which have killed thousands of people, devastated communities and damaged ecosystems.
