Shannon and The Clams: New single drop, Aus Tour 2025 and vegemite

Shannon and the Clams are kicking things off on their 2025 Aus tour for their 7th album, “The Moon is in the Wrong Place” (2024), starting off in Sydney/Eora NSW and performing  along the east coast. To make things extra special for their Australian fans, the band released a brand new single “Wax and String” ahead of their first live show in Sydney/Eora. Since exploding into the music scene in 2007, the tight knit band have been making waves with their groovy and out of this world tunes, both in the US and internationally. The band is made up of Shannon Shaw (Lead vocals and bass), Cody Blanchard (Vocals and guitars), Nate Mahan (Drums) and Will Sprott (Keyboards and vocals).

“The Moon is in the Wrong Place” is emotionally charged  to encapsulates the grief, disbelief and resilience the band had to process through an incredibly difficult circumstance. It has been described as on of the most difficult, ambitious and important project completed by the band.

Shannon’s fiancé and close friend of the band, Joe Haener unfortunately passed away during a tragic car accident on his farm in 2022. The current album, “The Moon is in the Wrong Place” is a homage to Joe’s life and legacy and a beautiful way for everyone now & in the future to remember him by.

Shannon and Cody joined Annie on the Monday Daily to chat more about the story behind the emotionally charged album, latest single, vegemite and why they love being in Australia (and a bonus spotting of a very sunburnt man during the interview). Thank you to Shannon and Cody for sharing their personal story and memories of Joe.
