Calls for protection of Exmouth Gulf humpback whales
According to research, the Exmouth Gulf in WA’s Pilbara region has an incredibly high density of mother whales and calves migrating for their mating season.
It’s one of the reasons researchers from the University of Western Australia have put forward recommendations to protect the humpback whales in the area.
If these recommendations go ahead, the area will become undisturbed, helping to boost the number of whales.
