Meta shuts down U.S Fact Checking Programs on Social Media
Meta has dropped its U.S fact checking programs designed to label viral, misleading content via their social media platforms.
Fact checking organisations argue this policy shift could encourage hate speech as well as spreading disinformation and misinformation online.
These changes only currently apply to Meta’s U.S operations and not overseas.
