Beryl Aren’t ‘Throw(ing) It All Away’

It feels like only once every now and then, you hear a record that you KNOW will be a new favourite of yours.

The band’s debut release ‘Dry, Peel, Crack’ was an album that is seeping with deep vulnerability and masterful songwriting that only comes from years of experience. The album provides listeners with a snapshot of Beryl at their greatest, showcasing their range, uniqueness and ability – solidifying them as one of Sydney’s most exciting acts. This is a masterclass in the craft of songwriting and being so distinctly clear and confident in the vision.

Beryl’s latest single, ‘Throw It All Away’ is no exception. Featuring an echoey guitar, Gab’s haunting vocals and a dramatic buildup – this is a track that takes their strengths and fervour as musicians, creating a song that showcases the best of Beryl. The way they can build and layer elements to create such a cohesive yet dissonant track is something to be admired.

Gab and Alex of Beryl joined Dream State host Jas in the studio to chat all about their live shows, and their latest release ‘Throw It All Away’.

Beryl also treated Dream State listeners to TWO live in studio performances of their new track ‘Throw It All Away‘, as well as an unreleased track, ‘If I Go’. These are available to listen to via Soundcloud now!

Listen to Dream State every Sunday from 8-10AM on 2SER 1073.3FM
