Sydney Lunar Festival: the Year of the Snake

City of Sydney celebrates the Year of the Snake with one of the largest annual festivals outside of Asia.

A celebration for many cultures, including Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Singaporean, and a much looked-forward to annual event for Sydneysiders.

Sydney Lunar Festival will run from 29 January to 16 February. You can expect a Chinatown street party, Cockle Bay dragon boat races, banquets, light installations around Sydney CBD, live performances, talks and workshops to name but a few events.

Stephen Gilby from City of Sydney joined Danny in the 2SER studio to discuss the history and highlights of the 2025 Sydney Lunar Festival.
