Experts say fear is escalating amongst the Jewish community as another string of antisemitic attacks emerged throughout Sydney’s East targeting a Jewish school and nearby home with graffiti last week.
More followed over the weekend, with reports of antisemitic attacks across Sydney and Perth, adding to the nations rise in antisemitic vandalism and targeted arson attacks over the past months.
These are all part of a sharp incline of antisemitic incidents since October 2023. Statistics from the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ), show almost 2100 antisemitic incidents occurred in 2024, excluding social media.
