Governments must act urgently to reduce emissions by 2030 and reach net zero CO2 emissions by 2050,  according to the International Energy Agency 2024 World Energy Outlook.

That will mean no new or extended fossil fuel projects. Peter Dutton has presented the case for nuclear energy, but there are many reasons that is not a solution.
