FEG payment scheme excludes skilled migrant workers

A skilled migrant resident is petitioning the Federal government to better support skilled workers when a company falls into administration.
Last year, Laura Denby was working at an IT company when it went into liquidation, and because of her immigration status, she was denied the Fair Entitlements Guarantee.
The FEG is a payment scheme, providing financial assistance to employees if their employer has gone into liquidation or been declared bankrupt. Currently, only Australian citizens and permanent residents are eligible.
