Gender: How Does It Affect Our Faith In Ourselves?
A recent study developed on 400 children has concluded that girls will see themselves as less talented than boys when they are six years old. This study triggers alarm bells as it demonstrates how easily women can experience gender stereotypes and feel disempowered. However, the question lies whether the findings of this research will produce further problems in future careers of women. The Daily was joined by Dr Emily Cachia – Interdisciplinary Women’s Studies, Gender & Sexuality Program Department of Sociology at Macquarie University to discuss why girls have been proven to lose faith in their talents at a young age.
