Reason and the Face of Terror
Australians are no strangers to the news of terror attacks. The tragedies that have unfolded in recent years throughout, London, Paris, Brussels and the like always make it to the front page of our national publications. But over the weekend, when news of the counter terror raids in Sydney broke after four men were taken into custody over alleged plans to bring down a place with close to 500 passengers, the threat of terror really hit close to home. Ellie Madritsch spoke to professor Jeff Lewis Co Director of the Human Security and Disasters Research Program in RMIT’s Global Cities Research Institute about the public’s response.
