The medium term minimum wage target was recently defeated by the Fair Work Commission. While industry groups and business owners were delighted, the unions were not as impressed with the decision. With the annual wage review coming up, renewed questions start to emerge about what the right level is for the new increase and whose figure strikes the perfect balance.
