Intense heat in sport: when is it too hot?

Temperatures soared so high this summer that in the men’s final of the Australian Open on Sunday, the stadium roof had to be closed. So when is it too hot to play sport? Should you be thinking about putting away the backyard cricket stumps if the temperature gets too high?
