When Havana met Kingston
Jake Savona, aka Mista Savona is Australia’s leading man when it comes to producing reggae and dancehall sounds. His recent work took him from the familiar grounds of Jamaica and across the water to Cuba, where he saw a way to combine the two two distinctive music styles.
The product of that, the album Mista Savona presents Havana Meets Kingston is a truly unique project and it’s about to go on the road, with a 15 piece supergroup of Jamaican and Cuban musicians hitting the Enmore theatre on March 14.
Jake chatted to Nic about this two year labour of love and why he can’t wait for people to see it live.
