Women in Tech and male dominance in the industry
On this International Women’s Day as we celebrate the economic, social, cultural and political achievements of women, we are reminded of a harsh reality. Women in Tech are a minority.
Why is that more men enroll in STEM courses, secure more jobs in Tech, and get higher paychecks than their equally capable female counterparts? Why is that in every Tech panel conference, it is hard to spot a female face amongst the sea of male techies? Tired of male-only tech conferences, a group of Victorian women have formed the Click List, which provides more exposure to women in Tech.
