South Korea’s Moon Jae-in’s Promises

On the 10th May, Moon Jae-in, a former human rights lawyer was sworn in as the next South Korean president. During his first speech as president, he announced his efforts to ease tensions of war in the Korean Peninsula with the proposal of sanctions against North Korea.  The question lies, what will these sanctions look like and how will they affect the growing tensions between the North and South?
