Sydney-Based App To Tackle Street Harassment
A new app to tackle Sydney-based street harassment affecting women, was released last week by the NGO ‘Plan International’. The app, which allows young women to add in safe and unsafe locations in Sydney, has launched in Sydney after the company found up to 90 per cent of women claimed they felt unsafe in the city at night. Plan International will use the collated data to create safer cities – but is this the best way to prevent discrimination against women? And why are the statistics of women affected so high?
