Senate recommends drug testing welfare recipients
The Senate yesterday approved the Coalition’s bill to drug-test welfare recipients, despite being overwhelming rejected previously. The Senate stated the bill would test if ‘abuse issues are causing a barrier to employment for trial participants’. Both the Greens and Labour party have condemned the bill, with many experts warning that this bill could do more harm than good.
