American Essentials Film Festival celebrates the latest indie treasures in narrative feature and documentary, together with newly restored American classics. 13 movies will make their Australia premiere. American Essentials Film Festival will provide audiences with not just a snapshot of current creative directions in the U.S. but will explore their great traditions and impact on international cinema movements.
Movie highlight for mother’s day 55 Steps – true story of the friendship between lawyer Colette Hughes (Hilary Swank) and psychiatric patient Eleanor Riese (Helena Bonham Carter) and their 1987 landmark San Francisco case for patients’ rights.
RBG – Documentary movie of the life and career of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Hemp, Health & Innovation Expo

Do you know the difference between hemp and regular old marijuana? One is touted as a superfood with additional uses in textiles, biofuel and even construction materials; the other, still yet not legal for recreational use anywhere in Australia.
Explore and discover everything there is to know about hemp this weekend at the Hemp, Health and Innovation Expo. The expo showcases the myriad of ways the plant source can be used and is a first look at the innovations underway in the industry.

In the plant world, colour is the essential ingredient for pollination. Watch as The Calyx is transformed into an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colour in the new, free floral display Pollination.
Curated by the horticultural team at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, the display features a collection of plants and flowers showcasing the role colour plays in natures magnificent act of pollination.
Garden beds of vibrant coloured orchids, daisies, gardenias and lilies are set against the backdrop of the display hero – the green wall.
The wall, the largest of its kind in Australia, standing at 6 metres high and spanning 50 metres, showcases the Pollination theme with Dichondra, Syngonium and Heuchera.
