Saving food from landfill: Ozharvest
Did you know that every year in Australia, 4 million tonnes of food end up in the landfill? And that this waste costs the economy $20 billion each year? It’s a problem that we all need to work hard to fix, but no one is working harder than Ronni Khan, the founder of Ozharvest. Ozharvest is a food-rescue operation that rescues 1000 tonnes of food destined for the dump every week that is then turned over to charitable organisations. Now Ronni’s war against food waste is being profiled in a new movie: “Food Fighter”. Ronni Khan, founder of Ozharvest, chatted with Tess about food waste and the upcoming film on her work “Food Fighter.”
