One Year on From Change the Course
Yesterday on the Daily we spoke about new national guidelines to tackle sexual assault on university campuses. Today marks one year since the Australian Human Rights Commission released the Change the Course report into sexual assault and harassment in Australian universities. Reactions to the finding that one in five students had experienced sexual harassment in a university setting led to sweeping changes of how universities deal with on campus harassment and assault. To mark the anniversary of the report’s release, the Australian Human Rights commission has released the results of an audit into actions taken by Australian universities in response to the Change the Course report.
Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins joined us on The Daily to talk about these findings.
