How hard have you fallen for a fictional character before? Did you tell anyone about it?
Don’t worry, you’re definitely not a weirdo.
You’re just one of many with a classic case of fictophilia, or “Desire, sexual attraction, or intense feelings of love towards a fictional character, similar in strength and application of those felt towards real people”.
Whilst it’s not officially recognised by the DSM, fictophilia is real, people, it’s just not directed towards real people. It’s prominence, especially amongst millennials, have seen the rise of cartoons hotties like Hatsune Miku, Aladdin, Flynn Rider and of course, the thiccest of the thicc, Elastigirl from The Incredibles. Big Ups to Disney for corrupting a generation of fictional heroes.
