Australia Reaches 25 Million Residents – Can Our Country Cope With This Growth Rate?

Late last night at 11pm our country welcomed its official 25 millionth resident, leaving us with a growth rate that exceeds and remains above the global average. Our current annual population growth is 1.6% compared to the global growth of 1.2% per cent. With this in mind it is crucial to consider and evaluate the repercussions of this growth on our urban areas, resources and capital. We were joined today by  Associate Professor Dr. Paul Jones  Program Director, Master of Urban and Regional Planning at the The University of Sydney to further discuss the reasoning for and consequences of this rapid and high growth rate.
