You might have heard that 100% of the state of NSW is now in drought, and while this doesn’t come as a surprise, the magnitude of the situation really is hard to grasp.

The plight of farmers has been documented… to a degree, but the ecological ramifications of such a prolonged dry period is equally as dire for the the delicate ecosystems existing alongside farmers. Is biodiversity under threat or will nature endure?

The Breakfast show’s Tess Connery  discussed these questions and more with climate change action advocate and Distinguished Professor of Biological Science at Macquarie University, Leslie Hughes.
