Temporary Certainty
With human invasion comes complex interventions to change and control the local environment and people.
New exhibition Temporary Certainty looks at the historic affects of colonisation across different regions in the greater Asia region from Iraq to Bangladesh to right home in Australia.
Sophie spoke to one of the featured artists, Alana Hunt, about her work Faith in a Pile of Stones that unpacks the environmental, technological and economic interventions of white Australia by focusing on the diversion dam in Kununarra in WA’s East Kimberley region.
Temporary Certainty, 4A Centre For Contemporary Asian Art, Haymarket, 30 August – 10 October, free.
