The Realities of Being a Front-Line Domestic Violence Worker
The realities of being a front-line domestic violence worker is even harder than we think, a new UNSW report has found. The National Survey of Workers in the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Sectors uncovered that front-line workers feel underpaid and emotionally drained. Many of the workers who help those affected by violence are women exposed to harassment themselves. The government commissioned UNSW’s Social Policy Research Centre to identify problems involved in this strenuous job, and explore what changes could help workers in the future.
