Let’s kick things off with California’s Wargirl, and their free flowing and eclectic melange of soul, psych, funk, Afrobeats and Latin rhythms. On the group’s self titled debut, find plenty of light and shade throughout. Packed full of richly layered songs, you’ll find more feel good, joyful songs in the first half, with a moodier palette in the second.

You know there’s something special about Anna St. Louis, when she’s piqued the interest of King Tuff and Kevin Morby has them producing her debut. Beguiling folk-rock songs, with shades of country, about landscapes, water and heartache. The big drawcard here is St. Louis’ voice which is a towering force. Whether it be gentle, hushed whispers or hints of a Southern drawl coming through, her delivery is powerful and floats effortless atop no frills, catchy guitar pickings.

Plus new singles from Lisa Caruso, Martin Frawley of Twerps note, Cass McCombs, and another offering from Tiny Ruins‘ forthcoming album.
