The Finders Keepers

The Finders Keepers markets will feature over 200 independent art and design stalls at Sydney’s newest cultural venue – The Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve. Expect to buy incredible pieces by amazing makers from Sydney, as well as treasured favourites from all around Australia. The Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve, 10am, $5 entry (kids under 12 free). Sydney Beerfest

Up for a line-up of craft brews and live music? Who isn’t! The Sydney Beerfest is happening today and there’s still tickets available if you want to check it out. There’ll also be masterclasses, live demonstrations and tastings. Tickets are going for $42 but you could score a discount if you grab some mates and buy together.

The Uncast x Usfin Atelier present Out of Orbit #2

Out of Orbit is an exhibition series that celebrates the different communities that make up contemporary Australia.This series aims to connect the vast number of artists in Sydney by encouraging communication and collaboration between contributors and attendees. Sydney Ideas – White Fragility

USYD presents White Fragility- which discusses why race is a difficult term to grapple with for white people. Guest  Dr Robin DiAngelo – a renowned anti-racism educator – argues that environmental- live in an insular social bubble which allows them to tolerate racial stress.Dr DiAngelo – author of What Does it Mean To Be White? Developing White Racial Literacy – describes this lack of racial stamina as ‘White Fragility’. In this talk Dr DiAngelo provides an overview of the socialisation that instils white fragility and offers perspectives and skills that white people can use to build their racial stamina and engage more constructively across race.University of Sydney, Camperdown, 6- 7:30pm, free

Art After Hours: International Day of People with Disability

It’s no doubt people with disability contribute to our culture here in metro and wider Sydney. Monday is the actual International Day of People with Disability. But on Wednesday, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is hosting an ‘Art After Hours’ event that includes a panel discussion, spoken word performance, a tour of their latest exhibition Masters of modern art from the Hermitage, and live music, to support this day. It’s free to attend.

The Big Design Market

If you can’t make it out this Saturday, you’ve got a second chance on Friday! The Big Design Market is on at the Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park. FInd anything from jewelry, textiles, ceramics, stationary and other gifts. It’s on for 3 days with $2 entry at the door with kids under 12 free.
