Western Australia Lifts Moratorium on Fracking

Western Australia has lifted a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing – better known as fracking – to improve their economic fortunes. The move has appalled environmentalists and local landholders, who argue fracking has the potential to contaminate water supplies and local ecosystems.
