Support for a Royal Commission into Abuse of Disabled Children Rises
Federal Parliament has motioned in favour of establishing a Royal Commission to investigate the abuse of disabled children in Australian schools. This is an ongoing issue that has been investigated in the past but the scale of this inquiry would be nationwide and would aim to help those of us who need it most. It is the opinion of David Roy, Lecturer in Education at the University of Newcastle, that disability is not a deficit, but a challenge to overcome within barriers created by society. He spoke with us on the issue and its profound impact on society.
