Gender and Cultural Bias Against Uni Teachers
A recent study conducted by the University of New South Wales has found that university students demonstrate bias against female teachers, especially those from a non-English speaking background. The study examined more than 500,000 student responses from 2010 through to 2016.
However, the bias against female teachers varies between faculties. To talk about the study we spoke to author Yanan Fan who is also a university teacher herself as a professor of statistics at UNSW.
