Italian Government to Roll Out “Citizens’ Income” To Address Unemployment & Poverty
The Italian government has launched its “citizens’ income” policy, which is designed to reduce unemployment numbers and alleviate poverty across the country. To qualify for the scheme, one must be earning less than €780 per month, while also agreeing to complete eight hours of community service per week and take one of the first three job offers that match their qualifications. Bruno Mascitelli, Associate Professor in International Studies from Swinburne University joined us on The Daily to analyse the feasibility of this policy.
