Matt Favier
Matt found his passion for sport during primary school, when he won an 800m running race. He continued to build his strength in high school, and ended up with an AIS track and field scholarship in the 80s.
During his time at the AIS Matt studied physical education, and taught PE in Canberra in between training. He went on to work in sports administration, for organisations such as Athletics Australia and UK Sports.
Now, as Director of the AIS, Matt has been responsible for getting more gold for Australia.
