Interregnum at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre

An interregnum is the period between rulers, a break in continuity as the rule of one sovereign ends and the next extends.

Artist Penelope Cain investigates this notion in her exhibition Interregnum, exploring Australia’s ongoing relationship with coal, and the nexus between power and extinction.

Penelope joined Nicole to discuss her investigation into coal’s history and its prevailing influence in the present.
